Betty Brokn

Hello once again and welcome back to MY Indie Music Blog! It's been a while. It feels good to be back again. Who's ready for some new music? Well, let's go get to it then, shall we?

Join me in welcoming Atlanta, Ga's very own Betty Brokn to MY Indie Music Blog!

Riptides (featuring Eric Fontaine) is the latest single from Atlanta electro pop indie duo Betty Brokn. Meg Scalise and Torin Degnats (formerly of The Well Reds), with some help from their friends, make up this exciting new music venture that first hit our radar earlier this year with their first two singles 1985  and Lemonade. Musically, their sound is described by the duo as "...music that bounces candidly from serious to playful, from sassy to broken, to I am woman hear me roar." There's a little jazz, a little bit of the blues and whole lot of soul in their sound. Riptides has quickly become a track favorite on my Spotify playlist. It's like a throwback to the 50's, infused with that jazzy blues sound but with the throttle wide open blasting down the highway in a rat rod! If Hulu decides somewhere down the line to bring back their femme fatale show Reprisal, I can totally hear Riptides as the title song!

The duo is currently working on a 6-song Ep that I personally can not wait to hear. As is usually the case with artists that I showcase here at MY Indie Music Blog, their sound is fresh and so far removed from today's mainstream radio mess. I'm hoping for big things for them in the very near future!
